How do I renew my domain name?
To renew your domain name(s), you must take the following actions before the expiry date of the domain:
- Print the Domain Hosting Agreement Form and send us a signed copy of the same (signed by the domain owner). Payment for and usage of the services implies that you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions mentioned therein.
- Pay in full the domain renewal charges. To know the renewal charges, send an email to the Renewal Team. Details of various payment options are mentioned in the Payment Options document.
- Send an email to the Renewal Team mentioning the payment details so that we may renew your domain to ensure smooth functioning.
What happens if my domain expires?
Whenever a particular domain name is not renewed till the Expiry Date, it would slip into the Renewal Grace Period* (varies based on the domain extension). All such domain names would be put on a Temporary Commercial Parking Page, which would indicate that the domain name has expired. During this period, any website and mails associated with the domain name would become non-functional and inaccessible. Any domains renewed during this period will take 24 to 48 hours to become active again.
What happens if my domain is not renewed during the Renewal Grace Period?
If you do not renew the domain name in the Renewal Grace Period, then the domain name would be deleted and the domain name will go into Redemption Grace Period generally (provided there is no back-order for this domain name) and you would get a chance to redeem it. Redeeming a domain name is costly (around USD80), time consuming and generally a manual process. The Redemption Grace Period is generally of 30 days after the domain name is deleted and during this period, only the current Registrar of the domain name can Redeem the domain name.
What happens if my domain is not renewed during the Redemption Grace Period?
If the domain name is not Redeemed during this period, then it would move to the Pending Delete period for 5 days. In this status, the domain name can not be Redeemed and after this period, the domain name would be available for fresh Registration.
